Everything Is Different Now
The real problem here is embedded in the use of the word normal, as what is normal to the spider, is chaos to the fly.
Unfortunately, at present, we don't have even the luxury of the simple distinction between predator and prey: such a dichotomy was honed over hundreds of millenia by evolutionary, environmental pressures spanning from the macro to the micro, truly pure randomness, and design (of the anthropic variety, as opposed to the deific).
Perhaps the TL;DR of this piece of writing is that everything feels different to everyone because the last vestiges of the illusion of normal have dissipated in a visceral manner.
The slightly sadistic punchline is that, the people who never knew normalcy, are baffled at those who suddenly find themselves bereft the loss of that which never tangibly was.
Those people, in turn, are baffled at those who go about the business of being without the desire for attaining, or repairing it.
